First Swimming Lesson!!!

Richard and I took Lily last night for her first swimming lesson. We set off to Blantyre Swimming Baths for what we expected to be a pained half hour in the swimming pool with Lily screaming her little heart out but to our amazement she took to the water without a single hesitation. I was very surprised at this as Lily likes her baths to be slightly hot so getting her into the coolish swimming pool with no tears was amazing! Since the initial swim was a success we decided to dunk her under (just to get her used to the water :)). Richard was first to try it out and quickly dunked her under bringing her straight back up with huge smiles from Richard to try and encourage her that it was normal and she would be fine. With a slight whimper to begin with, she quickly regained her confidence and didn't bat an eyelid when we did it another couple of times. We all look forward to the next time, when we will perhaps take a baby seat so she can float on the water.
